Our approach

Useful answers. Visible evidence.

Simply Onward is an independent English-language travel planning publication. Our first guides cover the practical decisions before a Japan trip.

How we work

We use AI-assisted research and drafting, then check factual claims against the sources cited in each article. Calculations and assumptions are labelled. Desk research is not described as a personal trip or hands-on product test.

Commercial links

Our first guide contains no affiliate links and no paid placement. If we later earn commissions, we will disclose that on the relevant page. A free or cheaper option should still be included when it fits the reader’s needs.

Updates

Each guide states when its sources were checked. Confirm prices, availability and booking conditions with the provider before purchase. Corrections can be sent to our editorial inbox.
